WHO WE ARE

The Pittsburgh Association for Financial Professionals (PAFP) is a regional chapter of the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) serving Southwestern Pennsylvania.  The PAFP has been recognized as a 501 (c) 6 non-profit organization with the State of Pennsylvania since 1981.

WHAT WE DO

The PAFP provides continuing education to its members. Bi-monthly meetings are held offering insightful speakers on relevant topics.  Speakers are followed by question and answer sessions fostering the continued exchange of ideas with peers.

An annual party is held each year offering a social setting where members network and celebrate a successful year.

The Pittsburgh AFP holds an annual, day-long forum, called the Three Rivers Financial Forum, in April.  This exciting event presents the attendee with the chance to attend several seminars on pertinent topics. Keynote speakers of stature in the business, sports or local community are featured.

Financial professionals can earn credits to maintain their CCM, CTP or CPE credentials by joining the PAFP and attending these events.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Pittsburgh Association for Financial Professionals was founded to provide an informal forum for the exchange of ideas, concepts and best practices used by financial professionals. Through education, communication and commitment, the Association is dedicated to improving the quality of financial management. The PAFP strives to raise the awareness of financial vocations as a career choice.

CERTIFICATIONS

The Certified Treasury Professional {CTP}, formerly the CCM, is an exam-based certification that is widely regarded by treasury managers as one of the leading credentials in the field. It demonstrates a high standard of professionalism and a commitment to performance. The CTP designation is the only professional credential in cash management. By earning the CTP, you achieve industry-wide recognition, become more competitive and create more opportunities for career advancement.

The increasing emphasis on maximizing the earning power of liquid assets, and the need to improve efficiency in treasury operations, has placed new importance on the cash/treasury management function. The result is a more demanding job market, where certification as a CTP is a valuable asset for your professional growth.

More and more employers, faced with critical staffing decisions, are looking at the CTP credential as an added value in prospective employees. Many are actively seeking people with the CTP credential.

To your peers, the CTP credential demonstrates your commitment to professional development and meeting new challenges.
